The company warns that invoices are being sent on behalf of Endesa, the content of which is a Ransomware Locky-type computer virus, the purpose of which is to block the computer's files in order to subsequently request an economic ransom for their unlocking.

We remind users to NEVER give their personal data, passwords, click on links or download content from emails for which they do not know the addressee or it is not a common practice with said company.

Here are some guidelines to follow to avoid falling into this type of fraud:

  • Never open email attachments from unknown senders . Be suspicious of those emails that come without a header or in a different language than the supposed sender.
  • The most dangerous attachments end in “.scr” or “.exe”. Also be careful with files with a double extension : “.doc.exe”, “.zip.exe”, “.doc.scr”, “.zip.scr”, etc.
  • Mail preview should be disabled .
  • Attachments should be scanned with antivirus before opening.
  • Anti SPAM filters must be used and care must be taken when providing the email address to avoid this type of email.
  • Do not reply to fake messages or chain letters to avoid spreading your address.
  • Sending emails to several recipients must always be done using the BCC mode (with blind copy), so that the different recipients cannot see the rest of the email addresses.
  • You should always check if the attachments to be sent are correct , as well as make sure that the recipient's account is correct.
  • The transmission of medium and high level personal data through emails will be carried out by encrypting said data or using any other mechanism that guarantees that the information is not intelligible or manipulated by third parties.
